Life Empowerment Community Outreach (LECO) (formerly Women Empowering Women Ministries) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization founded by the late Pastor Bernice Braxton-Bishop. Pastor Bishop founded this grassroots organization to combat the devastating effects of poverty, homelessness, illiteracy, addiction, unemployment, teen parenting, and other ills that plague Baltimore City families and communities.
Since 2005, we have fed the hungry, helped to provide housing for the homeless, educated individuals seeking a GED, and connected substance users to recovery and treatment programs.
In 2020, Pastor Bishop passed the mantle to her daughter, Lakesha, to continue her legacy of serving the citizens of Baltimore City. Thus, LECO aims to expand its outreach by offering a full spectrum of supportive services to enhance the quality of life of individuals and communities.
